What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites save on the visitor's device to remember information from one page to the next or from one visit to the next. Some are essential for the website to work; others are used to collect statistics and are used only with consent. The browser's local storage performs a similar function, and this policy treats it in the same way.
The website uses only first-party cookies, that is, cookies created and read by our own website: no advertising, profiling or social network cookies.
Necessary cookies
They are always on, because without them the website could not even remember your cookie choice. They do not require consent.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
dgm_consenso | Technical cookie | Remembers your cookie choice: categories accepted, date and a random code that links it to the consent record | 6 months | Anyone who makes a choice in the notice |
sito-avviso-… | Local storage | Remembers that a site notice has been closed (for example a holiday closure) | Until deleted from the browser | Anyone who closes a notice |
dgm_admin | Technical session cookie | Keeps staff signed in to the staff area | Until the browser is closed | Authorised staff only |
dgm_anteprima | Technical cookie | Lets the website be viewed during maintenance, with the preview link | 12 hours | Only those who open a preview link |
Without any cookie, the website also counts the pages viewed by all visitors, anonymously: the IP address is not stored and the fingerprint used changes every day (details in the Privacy Policy).
Anonymous statistics, without cookies
To understand how the website is used and what to improve, it measures the visits of all visitors anonymously and in aggregate, without cookies and without saving anything on the device. Each page view is recorded as a separate event, with no code that could identify the person or link their visits.
We record: the page viewed, the referring website or search engine on arrival (with any campaign parameters in the link), the device's language and time zone (from which the country is derived), the screen width range, the type of device, operating system and browser, reading time, how far the page is scrolled and which sections stay in view, loading time, clicks on the phone number, email, “Request a quote” buttons, directions, external links and files, copying of the email address or phone number, frequently asked questions opened, whether the contact form is started, sent (only the subject chosen) or abandoned (only the name of the last field touched, never its content) and the words searched with the site search.
We do not collect the IP address, name, email or the text of forms. The data stays on our server, is not shared with third parties or combined with other information: no Google Analytics or similar tools. Because of these characteristics the measurement is comparable to technical cookies and does not require consent (guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021).
Per-visitor statistics, only with consent
Only if you choose “Accept all”, or turn on statistics in “Cookie preferences”, does the website save a random code in your browser that recognises it on later visits: it tells us how many people come back and the path they take between pages. The code contains no personal data and is not linked to your IP address, name or email.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
dgm_v | First-party statistics cookie | Random code that recognises the browser on the next visit (new or returning visitors) and the day of the first visit | 13 months | Only those who accept statistics |
dgm_s | First-party statistics cookie | Groups the pages viewed during the same visit | 30 minutes from the last activity | Only those who accept statistics |
After 13 months the visit details are deleted and only totals remain, with no codes.
Maps and third-party content
The Contact page shows a map provided by OpenStreetMap. Without consent the map loads only if you open it; with consent to Maps it opens by itself. When the map loads, your browser connects to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which receives your IP address and may process it under its own policies. No other data is transmitted.
The website's fonts are served from our own server: no connection to external services is made to display them.
Giving, changing or withdrawing consent
On your first visit a notice lets you choose Accept all or Necessary only, or customise your choice by category. Closing the notice with the X continues with necessary cookies only. With “Necessary only” the whole website remains available. Your choice lasts 6 months; after that, or if the categories used change, the notice is shown again.
You can change your choice at any time with the link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent to per-visitor statistics, the related cookies are deleted immediately; only the anonymous measurement described above remains.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge): the website remains available, but the notice will be shown again.
Consent record
To be able to prove the consent received, for each choice we keep the date and time, categories accepted, notice version, page and device type, together with the random code stored in the dgm_consenso cookie. The record contains no IP address or other data that identifies the visitor and is kept for 25 months.
